Creating a Performing Arts Destination at Liberty Station
Through a partnership between Cygnet Theatre and Arts District Liberty Station, historic former Navy Building 178 at Liberty Station has been transformed into a world-class performing arts venue for San Diego, creating a permanent home for Cygnet Theatre. The Joan and Irwin Jacobs Performing Arts Center includes two state-of-the-art theater spaces with spacious, ADA-accessible seating, a rehearsal space, open air lobby, two elegant bars, three landscaped patios, ample restrooms, and convenient parking. The venue will also provide jobs and training programs, encourage increased partnerships with under-resourced communities throughout the region, bring 50,000 theatre attendees each year to patronize nearby businesses, and provide space for numerous other performing arts organizations. With your support, The Joan and Irwin Jacobs Performing Arts Center will continue to provide a contemporary home for Cygnet Theatre that will foster live performance, elevate the arts in San Diego, and engage the entire community in an unparalleled cultural experience for generations to come.
